I did some research about Jamaica and it says it has the highest murder levels in the world in '08, and that it is the most homophobic country in the world. Me and my friends are all straight, but will they get mad if "whitey tries to fit in" by listening to reggae and having Bob Marley posters and stuff? We're going on a roadtrip in a few years and want to see Jamaica, so is there anything we should be aware of to not insult locals/cause them to act violently towards us?

We plan to see all of North America but we also want to spend at least 3-4 weeks in Jamaica, because we consider that like a dream vacation spot. Anyway, we're going to be traveling in a camper van (hopefully a volkswagen type 2 T1) and we don't want to abandon it to get to Jamaica, so is there a ferry/boat that would transport our car from Cuba to Jamaica? Mi was hushed cuz mi was speaking loud in class. Mi say it was a free world and mi could say what mi want! The teacher said "You go to that principals office!" and mi say "What for?" she said for talking loud in class! I was referred to this, for lack of better words... business by my brother in law who said they do a speedy job that has quality. I went to them for some body work that required less than a weeks worth or work(Paid $1000 of $1500 on July 12th, 2010). Although it took them 2 months and 3 weeks to finish my car. Along with the extended amount of time, I was given the run around as to what was taking the process so long. I was told that there weren't enough parts one week, then there wasn't enough labor another week. After 6 weeks of the run around, I went down to retrieve my car and found out that NO work had been done. Trevor, owner, told me that he had all of the parts and was just waiting on labor to come back from Jamaica. His brother, Ray, intervened and promised that if we wait another week, he will have the car ready. It is now two weeks later, I have been called by my mechanic, Trevor, and told that the car is ready and I can come pick it up. I paid the remaining $500 on Sept 1, 2010. The car work is not completed. I am missing the front grill ($150) a/c hose line($?), radiator brackets (?)

There are also black people who come from places like Jamaica and Haiti. They too HATE to be called African-American..They dont trace thier cultural heritage to the United States..
So please if you dont refer to us by our RAC---which is Black--then refer to us by our proper cultural heritage.
I call white people Irish-American, Italian-American, etc..When talking about thier heritage..No point in my saying European-American

i recently went to Jamaica and got really dark from being in the sun my normal skin tone is brown but now it looks like the tan i got is fading so now i have the light brown skin on the inner parts of my face but the outside parts of my face are still a little darker how long will it take for the tan to completely fade away and for my tone to even out

Okay, its my last year of middle school 8th grade. All my friends moved. a few moved to Bradford, Mississauga, Brampton, Oshawa,Tampa, and Jamaica.
